QE2 Departing Fort Lauderdale, Florida for the last time | 06:32AM Apr 12, 2008
I was fortunate yesterday to see the QE2 sail from Fort Lauderdale for the last time bound for the UK. Later this year, she will be retired from service and will become a floating hotel in Dubai. She made her maiden voyage in 1969 and is one of the last great Transatlantic liners. At 963 feet long with a top speed of 32.5 knots she is one of the largest and fastest passenger vessels afloat.
